Nomenclature Priorities of Functional Groups (all chapters after Chp. 2) but usually it is unlikely you will have to name an organic molecule with more than one functional group.

Brief Nomenclature Rules

Useful pKa's to Know This is a great handout, even though it says for Chem. 118B. It lists more pKa's than you want to know now, but I would KNOW all listed except the following:

on page 2: forget hydronium ion "look-alikes" for now (but know hydronium ion pKa = -1.7).
on page 3: forget the (Greek letter) alpha-protons on aldehydes and ketones and esters; forget H₂ and toluene.
on pages 4 and 5: forget about nucleophilicity and electrophilicity for now.
